Garments

Sweaters, ponchos, vests, and anything else you'd wear! The first real garment I made was a vest, followed by a few sweaters and my poncho. Garments range in difficulty, I started with a simple stockinette stitch vest and progressed to a cabled fisherman's sweater. I have to date used only wool for my garments, as I am a wool sweater fiend, but eventually I will break off into some cottons and silks for lighter summer styles,

Esme dress
Esme poncho

Esme is sporting a wool blend dress (or tunic as she continues to grow) as well as a wool poncho for the cool fall days!

The tunic and the poncho are available for custom ordering.

Poncho 2

My poncho! The grey portions are single ply wool with nylon center and the cream center is the fur which was spun into wool to add strength.

Vest close

A men's vest, simple v-neck pattern. I used Paton's Classic Wool in olive.

Long Underwear

These are long underwear, for which I could find no pattern so I made it up as I went along. I started with a boxer short pattern... for women because they were more fitted as opposed to the loose legs for men... and then continued each leg, measuring periodically and calculating the decreases as I worked down. I used worsted weight for these and they were thick enough, but not too thick, to fit comfortably under pants.

Cable knit sweater

A cable knit, fisherman's style sweater. I used Knitpicks Wool of the Andes bulky in navy. The pattern is from "Men In Knits". I had to do some recalculating because the pattern called for bulky yarn, but the Wool of the Andes bulky is a bit thinner.

Skirt

This is a simple A-Line skirt I made for myself. The pattern is Mya from C2Knits. I used Cascade 220 charcoal wool. I did not fold the waist band and insert elastic to cut down on bulk, so I just wove some elastic thread throughout. It seemed to be sized a little large, I could've gone down a size or so. There are three variations to this pattern, one with lace rib (which I made... a close up of the rib is in my photo gallery), color work and basic rib hem.

Chunky Sweater

A chunky wool blend sweater made from Wool Ease Chunky. It was the devil to sew together, but after more hours than it took to actually knit the pieces, I think it came out pretty nice! It was really soft and comfortable!

back halt

This tank/halter pattern has a really neat laced up back, but a fairly simple and plain front. I used the knitpicks worsted Shine yarn. The pattern called for a rayon yarn which was no longer made, so I substituted to what I hope will be soft and cool to wear!
